Out to get the Barisan Rakyat?

Seems like the BN politicians are now resorting to dirty tactics in order to TRY and get the rakyat to be wary of the Barisan Rakyat. Read this post by Kak Nuraina.

I don’t get it. Why do they have to do it this way? Do they not know that they are already quite hot in the frying pan with the rakyat at the moment? Do they not realise that by criticising the Barisan Rakyat, they are in fact creating and bringing along more respect and support of the rakyat FOR the BR?

One thing that caught my eye though, is one particular statement that Azalina Othman Said made, which to me, sounded really quite ironic. And here I quote: “Politics is a marriage of convenience. Politicians can say anything they want to gain the people’s support.”

Okay….. So now we know what kind of politics these BN politicians are playing. Or perhaps it is unfair for me to generalise them this way. I can safely say that Azalina Othman Said, Tourism Minister of Malaysia, sees politics in this light. And therefore, it is also safe to conclude that to her, politicians can say anything they want to gain the people’s support. And Azalina Othman Said, Tourism Minister of Malaysia, is a politician, no? And so, the whole kesimpulan of this study is that Azalina Othman Said, Tourism Minister of Malaysia can say anything she wants to gain the people’s support. True?

If anyone out there thinks that I’m twisting the truth, or putting words into her mouth, I shall grieve for your inability to read between the lines. She SAID to the reporters that politicians can say anything they want to gain the people’s support. And since this was reported on the Star Online, I’m assuming that this can’t be fabricated news. She made that statement, wanting the people to believe that the politicians of the DAP-PKR-PAS coalition have only been saying things to make the people vote for them, and that they have been saying anything they wanted to gain the people’s support. But what she doesn’t realise is that, in saying that, she is also biting herself.

This is a general statement, saying that politicians can say anything they want to gain the people’s support. And it perhaps is true. After all, what is a politician without the people’s support? Without the people’s support, then the politician will be no politician at all! So yes, perhaps politicians DO say anything they want to gain the people’s support.

But by saying this, she has forgotten one minute detail, which in fact, is the biggest one of all. She is a politician herself. She belongs to a political party. Therefore, the other members of this party are also politicians. The leader of our country is a politician. All the people that we just voted or didn’t vote for are all also politicians. The BR consists of politicians. The BN consists, also, of politicians.

Are we now to believe, as Azalina Othman Said, Tourism Minister of Malaysia says it, that all these politicians are in fact saying anything they want to gain the people’s support? I certainly hope not.

When you politicians say things, don’t just SAY stuff that don’t mean anything to you. Say things that you truly believe in. Tell us about things that you are really ready to do for us. Speak of the truths that you are sincerely willing to fight for.

And don’t stoop to the level of just bashing each other up with nasty remarks, or anything of that sort. That reduces the level of respect we rakyat have for you.

Go ahead, o’ politicians of Malaysia. Go ahead and say anything you want to gain the people’s support, because without us, you cannot be a politician. But please, for your own sake as much as for our own sake, say things that you really mean, and that come from the heart. If you say something to get our support, and have gotten it, then start going about DOING what it was you said. This way, you get even more support.

Then maybe later, Azalina Othman Said, Tourism Minister of Malaysia, or some other politician, would say that politicians can DO anything they want to get the people’s support.

  1. I too was wondering if Azalina actually put some thought into it before making such a statement.

I’ve basically chalked it down as another case of a BN minister talking first, thinking later. In fact I noticed this trend with Azalina.

2 days after her nomination day and the declaration of win, she was already stating in the MSM that bloggers were bodoh and don’t know what they are talking about. Yet when March 9th dawned the reverse was proven to be the truth.

Now I’m just wanting for her to shoot off her mouth again and cathc her in the act!
