Let’s shake hands and be friends againPosted: April 9, 2008
Looks like that’s what some of the people in UMNO are trying to get the PM, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, and ex-PM, Tun Dr Mahathir to do.
Sure, sure. kiss and make up if you really want to. But somehow, I don’t see that coming any time in the near future.
For Abdullah to openly blame Dr Mahathir for the bad judiciary state, the lack of freedom of media, Operasi Lalang, etc etc (I’m starting to sound like a broken record here, what with my repeating over and over again what each of them said), I don’t think reconciliation is in the cards at all. And I distinctly remember, although I’m not sure from where, that Dr Mahathir said that he would continue to criticize Abdullah for his slipshod work as a PM, until and unless he sees change. Change doesn’t look like it’s going to happen, so Dr M’s criticisms will continue, and Pak Lah will continue blaming everyone for everything.
Shake hands and be friends?
I don’t think so.
