Mission of MCA spy squad: Get rid of OKT’s political enemiesPosted: May 13, 2008
You’re all free to disagree with me, but for me, MCA has gone nuts. Absolutely nuts. And they’ve come to the point of no return.
Okay, so maybe slightly too melodramatic. But seriously (*head shaking*), what are these MCA people thinking? A SPY SQUAD? Couldn’t they even come up with a better name? That title is just so cliche.
So, judging from its name, it’s supposed to “spy” on MCA and identify the political enemies of Ong Ka Ting. Or wait. Maybe it was to spy on the people who have already been identified, so that some “hush-hush” information can be used against them. Don’t know what I mean? Think: Chua Soi Lek sex tape.
This is mere speculation, but one wonders how far this is from the truth. And it also leads one to wonder, exactly what does Wong Leong stand to gain, after letting the cat out of the bag on this one.
MCA Youth Chief and two others in spy squad, says Wong
KUALA LUMPUR: The main accuser at the centre of a probe into a spy squad, said to have been set up to oust the political enemies of the MCA president, has named three people as members of the secret group.
Petaling Jaya Utara division adviser Wong Leong, in a tell-all style, said the three members involved in the job were MCA Youth chief Datuk Liow Tiong Lai, Tanjung Piai MP Wee Jeck Seng and former Gerakan Belia Bersatu chairman Tee An Chuan.
He said Tee, the contact person of the team, had told him that the squad, which reported to Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting, was set up in February 2005, to get rid of Ong’s political enemies.
“Tee told me that there are certain people that the team needed to eliminate when he approached me to work for them.
“They are Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, Datuk Chua Jui Meng, Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai, Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik and his son Datuk Ling Hee Leong, and all their supporters,” he told a press conference yesterday after testifying before a three-man panel set up to investigate the existence of the spy squad.

That’s a hell lot of people to get rid of, seeing that the spy squad only consists of 3 main characters.
And of course, an allegation like that would NEVER be complete without the other side of the story, or the spy squad in this case.
They’re all baseless, says Ong of allegations against him
PETALING JAYA: MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting has dismissed as baseless allegations that he had set up a spy squad to snoop on his political enemies.
He said it was a dirty political tactic to disgrace or shame a person with baseless allegations.
However, Ong said he would face the allegation against him with an open heart as he still believed in the existence of justice and truth.
MCA Youth chief Datuk Liow Tiong Lai said his conscience was clear and he would leave the panel to investigate the claims made by Petaling Jaya Utara division adviser Wong Leong.
Former party Johor Youth chief and now Tanjung Piai MP Wee Jeck Seng said Wong was politically motivated into making the allegations.
The third person accused by Wong, Tee An Chuan, could not be contacted for comment.

Well, everything is going as expected. After all, who would admit to being part of a spy squad that was given the mission to oust some MCA leaders?
So do we care to make a prediction on how this whole issue might end?
In older times, this would have probably been swept under the carpet before it reached this stage. And even in the rare times that it did, somehow or other, they seem to be forgotten, by both MCA members and the media.
But now, our memory cells seem to have increased by quite a bit. We hope to get to the bottom of this. I’ve had enough of this kind of nonsense from them.
