Saiful: I swear! He did it!Posted: August 16, 2008
After a long long time going MIA, Saiful Bukhari has now reappeared. And not the quiet reappearance too.
I believe this is the first time he’s come out into public after making the police report against Anwar, accusing Anwar of sodomising him.
He previously issued challenges to Anwar to swear on the Quran, via emails to TV3, and through his Friendster account.
Today, he has sworn on the Quran.
KUALA LUMPUR: Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan took the ultimate religious step to maintain his honesty by swearing on the Al-Quran that he was sodomised by his former employer Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He challenged Anwar to also swear on the Quran, and dared him to deny the allegation in Allah’s name inside a mosque.
More from the StarOnline HERE.
Funny how he only came out a day before the nomination day for the Permatang Pauh by-elections. One would immediately suspect that he was waiting for the “right time” all along.
But hey, let’s not jump to conclusions. Maybe, like what he said, he needed the time to collect his thoughts and strength to do what he did today.
It’s a solemn act, this swearing on the Quran.
Let’s wait to hear what Anwar has to say to this.
Added – From Malaysiakini: Saiful says the sodomy incident was NOT consensual.
Now, we know that when Saiful first made that police report, he said it was not consensual. Then he went missing. Then the police carried out their investigations, and when they finally charged Anwar, it was for consensual sodomy. NOW, Saiful is saying that the police have it all wrong.
So then, what is what?
Afterthought: Also from the same Malaysiakini article:
Wartawan: Ini kali pertama kamu diliwat?
Mohd Saiful: Ya, pertama kali.
Wartawan: Besok penamaan calon, kenapa hari ini… saya harap kamu faham. Saya bukan nak buat apa-apa, tanya saja.
Mohd Saiful: Saya faham, secara kebetulan saja. Kalau nak ikutkan kita pun tak tahu Anwar akan bertanding.
First time? I thought it was 8 times. I guess the previous reports were wrong.
And Saiful didn’t know Anwar was going to contest? But Saiful wished Anwar “selamat bertanding” on his blog! I guess his own blog was wrong too.
