13-year-old stoned to death, after being raped

MOGADISHU, Nov 2 – A 13-year-old girl who said she had been raped was stoned to death in Somalia after being accused of adultery by Islamic militants, a human rights group said.
Dozens of men stoned Aisha Ibrahim Duhulow to death Oct 27 in a stadium packed with 1,000 spectators in the southern port city of Kismayo, Amnesty International and Somali media reported, citing witnesses. The Islamic militia in charge of Kismayo had accused her of adultery after she reported that three men had raped her, the rights group said.
I don’t know how to feel right now. Sad, angry or just downright depressed at the state this world has come to.
This, is blatant disregard of human rights. A right for that girl to live. Her right to her own body. Her right to lodge reports on abuse committed towards her body and soul. Her right to ask for help and protection when she needs it the most. Her right, to dignity.
And they have simply taken all this away, by criminalising the victim, while the real criminals run scot-free. Free to do what they want. Free to commit more crimes of the same. And the next victim will be compelled to suffer in silence for fear that she too, might be stoned to death should she dare to breathe a word of her sufferings.
She was only 13.

This is not the first. It is also not going to be the last. The mere fact that it was witnessed by over a thousand spectators tell you something. It is obviously not the conscience, that we assume, comes tethered with human life, that that was witnessed all this. Obviously something more powerful than the conscience that we assume would restrain us was what ruled the day.

I am not sure what your comment was aimed at, but my post was not to question the religion. It is much appreciated if we could refrain from religion-bashing.
If it was not your intention to speak ill of the religion, I apologise for deleting your comment, but I felt that it was rather ambiguous and could have sparked some heated misunderstandings.
It is very sad indeed to read about such injust. The mentality and chauvanistic society that this girl lives in needs to be changed. It is not easy at all to do that. I pray that with external pressure, such actions might be eliminate as soon as possible.
That country is governed by thugs and killers, what can you expect from it? Human rights, constitutional rights, liberty, justice and equality are not existence there.
